Building materials and housing equipment companies Tostem, Inax, Shin Nikkei, Sun Wave (excluding the manufacturing division) and Toyo Exterior merged in April 2011 to launch a new company, LIXIL Corporation.

LIXIL comes from the combination of the words "living" and "life," referring to the JS Group, which embraced the five companies under its umbrella. The name also symbolizes the comprehensive strengths that LIXIL, as a group, can offer. What can we do to improve people's lifestyles? What new values can we offer?
